Acer Crimson King Tree (12L, 5-6ft)

The Crimson King makes a great ornamental tree for any garden, offering a stunning show of rich red, crimson and beetroot coloured foliage. The leaves are large with five lobes that curl at the edges, adding to the effect of the light and dark shades. In spring, the dark leaves are contrasted by lovely small lemon yellow flowers with a tint of red, creating an eye-catching display.

Crimson King is a fully hardy tree and will tolerate most soil types including clay. It thrives best in moist but well-drained areas. It grows to a height of around 7m and assumes a broad headed, rounded shape. This Maple tree is happy in both coastal and inland gardens and will tolerate urban pollution as well as difficult conditions like exposed and windy open areas.
