Baby Plants - Calathea Freddie

Baby Calathea Freddie is a small houseplant with striking foliage which is sure to add an eye-catching element to any room in your home. Long, pointed leaves in dark green are striped with lighter green, earning this plant its nickname “Zebra Plant”.

Place your Calathea in bright, indirect light, ideally in an area with high humidity such as the bathroom or kitchen. If you would like to put the Calathea somewhere less humid, a regular misting will help, or you can place it on top of a tray of pebbles filled with water. Water your plant weekly or bi-weekly, whenever the top two inches of soil become dry.

Calathea Freddie is also referred to as a Prayer Plant - this is because its leaves fold up overnight and reopen again in the morning. It is a perfect choice for a houseplant lover because the beautiful, striped leaves will look great wherever you decide to place it.

It’s not unusual to give your plant a name… so don’t hesitate to choose one that you think suits the plant! Try naming your plant with the first name or word that you think of when you look at it - that’s how we ended up with an orchid named Clover and spider plant called Joseph.
