Our Ribes nigrum Ben Alder is an upright, deciduous shrub that produces edible fruit. The foliage of the plant is a lovely, dark green shade that contrasts perfectly against the clusters of white-pale green flowers. They will bloom in late Spring, before an array of wonderful Blackcurrants will be ready to harvest in late Summer, and can be included in everyday meals.
They will grow to an ultimate height of 1.5m and ultimate spread of 1m. In terms of plant care, it should be placed in bright, indirect sunlight and planted in moist, well-drained soil. Watering becomes essential when the soil is dry to touch.
