Festuca Intense Blue (9cm)

Festuca glauca Intense Blue is a mound-forming shrub that bears steel blue coloured foliage throughout. The leaves have a wiry look to them, making it an eye-catching addition to the garden. In Summer, blue-green flowerspikes appear, adding further interest to this variety. These spikes turn to straw with age, giving off a lovely, golden-yellow colour. When it comes to placement, borders, pots, patios or displays are ideal to show off its many striking features.

Blue Fescue has a compact, mounding habit that has great texture and structure. The plant is also very low maintenance, meaning water is only required every so often. Once the plant establishes itself, it becomes relatively tolerant to periods of drought. When it is planted in a sunny spot within moist, well-drained soil, this Festuca variety will thrive and progress very well.
