Herbs - Sage Maxima, Salvia Officinalis Maxima

These compact, bushy herb plants are ideal for planting in beds and borders but also work well for growing fresh herbs in pots and herb planters. The grey-green foliage is highly aromatic and is topped with racemes of small violet-purple tubular flowers throughout the summer months.

Sage Maxima boasts large oval leaves that are bursting with flavour. They can be used fresh or dried and added to the cooking pot to enrich meat and stuffing dishes. The leaves also aid digestion and can be harvested fresh whenever they’re required. Their strong flavour makes these outdoor plants a wonderful addition to any herb garden.

Salvia Officinalis Maxima garden plants thrive in light, well-draining soil out of strong, chilly winds. This is a drought-tolerant plant that only needs to be watered during particularly dry spells. It prefers a spot in full sun but tolerates partial shade.
